How you can be a Part of National Telework Week in November

Telework can be defined as “working regularly from a place other than the office, in most cases from a home office. It utilises information and communications technology to stay connected to colleagues and work systems.”

Did you know that November 12-16 is National Telework Week?

The Department of Broadband, Communications and the Digtial Economy is encouraging businesses to join in and “commit to working remotely for one or more days during the week. Whether you’re an employee or an employer, National Telework Week can help you to increase productivity, find a better work/life balance, and become a part of the anywhere working world.”

The Australian Government’s aim to increase the take up of telework is part of its National Digital Economy Strategy which aims to position Australia as one of the world’s leading digital economies. The telework goal is to double Australia’s level of telework by 2020, so that at least 12 per cent of Australian employees report having a telework arrangement with their employers.

Telework can deliver a broad range of benefits to individuals, employers, and the country as a whole. As a teleworking provider, we are aware of the benefits that teleworking could bring – most importantly saving time, money and the environment.
